BERLIN, GERMANY + AWESOME HOSTEL

My beautiful friend Krista and I went to Berlin Germany and loved every second of it :)
We were at school talking about how we wanted to go somewhere over the weekend and we thought, why not Germany? Sometimes spontaneous trips are the best especially when you have good company.

Here are some of the attractions you absolutely have to see if you visit Berlin.

1. The picture above is us on top of the German Parliament House called The Reichstag building. The tour was free you just have to make reservation ahead of time. You can walk to the top of the dome which gives you some beautiful views of the government district.
If that sounds interesting to you, make sure to register Register here for a tour: https://visite.bundestag.de/BAPWeb/pages/createBookingRequest.jsf?lang=en

Side note, we attened the FIFA WORLD CUP TOUR!!! It was only In Berlin for one day and we happened to stumble upon it.

2Seeing the Berlin Wall was incredible to be in the presence of so much history and to see the remains of the German Democratic Republic is something you must experience if you visit Berlin.

3. Once you’re finished touring the Parliament building, the Brandenburg Gate is a beautiful nearby stop and so much bigger than I imagined!

4. Out of all the Cathedrals I have seen in Europe so far, Berlin Cathedral is in my top 5. This picture does not do it justice. The colors were beautiful and it has a gothic feel to it. During special festivals, the cathedral is lit up with different colors and patterns.

I know you are dying to know about the Berlin nightlife.
5. We went to this well known and touristy called Club Soda which was definitely a memorable experience. We happened to go during ladies night which got us in  plus 3 drinks for FREE! (It also helped that the bouncers loved that we were from California!) There were multiple rooms, each with a different genre of music playing.  If you are looking for a more low key venue then this is not the place to go. If you’re looking to party it up, German style, I would definitely recommend this club!

HOSTEL

Krista and I stayed at the PLUS Berlin hostel and boy did I love it there. From the moment I walked in, I found myself smiling from ear to ear and instantly knew this was going to be an amazing trip. The rooms were well-kept and open, the beds were neat and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and inviting. The staff was very friendly, and when we arrived we were given little free welcome shot vouchers that we could redeem at their bar. They served breakfast in the morning which had a good variety (On hostelworld.com it now says they do not serve breakfast, they may have changed their amenities). There is even a swimming pool and a sauna! If I ever go back to Berlin I would choose Plus Berlin, and you can even upgrade to a private room that is part of their hotel. This hostel was also close to a beautiful part of the Berlin Wall.
